The event began with the declaration of ‘PROCLAIM’ – the Conference’s mission focused initiative promoting total membership involvement in the ministries and departments of the church.
The high-point of the day was the thought-provoking sermon from Pastor Odiaka Walker, who hails from the parish of St. Mary (Mango Valley) and now lectures at Northern Caribbean University. Pastor Walker highlighted that we need to go the “upper room” to press forward in our lifelong mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses. It was emphasized that “either the Holy Spirit moves through you to do the work or the Holy Spirit will move you!”
In the latter half of the programme, representatives from the Conference gave a general overview of the various churches' accomplishments during the ‘Ingathering Campaign’ period. Certificates were awarded to churches who passed their goals, which were set before the start of their respective campaigns, and achieved their “super goals”. Following this, churches that had an increased influx of tithes and offerings over the period, were also recipients of certificates and commendations.
The Pastors for the various Pastoral Districts were granted the opportunity to provide a series of comprehensive reports to highlight the progress being made regarding their evangelistic and philanthropic work. Some Districts, led by their pastoral family, marched in victoriously singing of God’s might and power in blessing their accomplishments.
The audience was then informed by the Conference’s president, Pastor Danielo Daniels, about the changes made within the Pastoral Districts over the past year. “In the Windsor District of churches, we now have Pastor Ruel Haye. In the Port Antonio District of Churches, we now have Pastor Linton Hamilton. We have in the Buff Bay District of Churches, Pastor Uwayne Orr and Pastor Kenroy Hall. In the Hope Bay District of Churches, we have Pastor Raymond Douglas and Pastor Manderson in the Boundbrook District of Churches.”
Convention 2025 highlighted that we must continue our evangelical efforts within these last days to win as many souls for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. All achievements made by the conference deserve commendation. Led by the Holy Spirit, there is potential for even better results in the coming year.
